This past weekend, my husband and I celebrated our third anniversary.
Steve's parents took Xavier for the weekend so we could have some alone time. I was nervous about being away from him as I've never been away from him since he was born. But, it worked out well! We had a jam packed agenda for the weekend. We started Friday night by exchanging gifts and watching a movie. Steve got me a "Movie themed" gift complete with a couple DVD's and all my favorite movie snacks - twizzlers, popcorn, Fererro Rocher hazlenut truffles, Cherry Coke Zero, Double Stuf Oreos and Whoppers. It was one of the best gifts he has ever gotten me. It was tailored to things I love and I appreciated the thought he put in to it!
On Saturday, we slept in, had brunch at Due Amici where I had my first bellini (AMAZING!), and sipped tea at ZenCha. Dinner was at Hyde Park Steakhouse and then we went home for a jammie party. One of my favorite things to do is put on my jammies early in the evening and hang out all night in them!
On Sunday, we had breakfast at the local tea house with a friend, then I drove up to Fremont to pick up Xavier. I was so excited to see him that morning that I woke up at 5 AM and couldn't fall back asleep!
Looking back on our life as a married couple, it's been eventful. Three years ago, we would be in Barbados, sipping cocktails, and relaxing on a cruise ship. Today, we feel all grown up. We have both been busy focusing on our careers, decorating our new home, and raising little Xavier.
Cheers to three amazing years!!
